About Us

our history

The school was started by the vision bearer kibuuka Edward in 2015. The founder is being assisted by his wife Lovince. Since it started , it has supported and is supporting over 315 children by 2023. The founder and his wife are both trained and qualified teachers and have been in active teaching interacting with parents/guardians and children for more than 15 years.  The activities of the running of the school are in the hands of the founder himself, his wife and a dedicated team of caregivers and teachers. We care for children of all age groups starting with 3 and half years.

The school is non-denominational and non-political. All disadvantaged children are welcome.

Since 2015 when we started we have managed to keep in school over 230 vulnerable and disadvantaged children with a goal that each child will attain skills and a qualification and later become a positive influence in their communities and the country at large. By 2023 we are steadily working towards achieving the objectives of this institution

The School follows the Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) Curriculum. Main subjects taught include; English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.

With Nursery section pupils are taught; Math Concepts, General Knowledge, Handwriting, Drawing , Singing, confidence, Independence, Motor control, co-operation, English Writing & English Reading which continue up to Primary two

Our Staff

The quality of our staff is the main reason that Good care Infant School has improved so rapidly over the past few years. Our staff are recruited through highly rigorous processes that ensure they are of a standard we expect at Good Care Infant School.

You will find our staff to be warm, friendly and committed when you visit our school.  Don’t be surprised to see us being very strict, or laughing out loud!  Both these elements fit firmly within our values of aiming high, accepting no excuses, but also caring and having fun.

Our mission

Mission

To nurture the mental, emotional and physical development of disadvantaged children  in slums of Nansana municipality and Kampala city who have been affected by HIV/AIDS, domestic violence and poverty by providing access to education,guidance and counseling.

​

The school project was majorly intended to cater for roles related to but  not limited to the following:

  • To provide formal education and life skills to orphans and vulnerable children in poverty stricken homes in the nearby slums on Nansana municipality and Kampala city as it is located at the boarder of the two political entities.

  • To protect children from different forms of abuse by creating awareness of children’s rights to both parents and the children themselves.
     

Aims and objectives

  • To help young people gain knowledge that will help them live independently in life

  • To help children get skills that will help them become assertive and believe in their own ability to succeed.

  • To help children who had lost hope because of poor social economic status in their homes to regain hope and find coping mechanism to the challenges of life.

  • To empower young people with skills that can enable them develop personal identity and accept. responsibility for their actions.

  • To sensitise parents / guardians of the disadvantaged children  of the many ways they can assist them to discover themselves and make use of the knowledge we give them at school so that they can become useful members of their communities.
