who we help

  • At Good Care Infant School, we help vulnerable children from the age of 3 years to 12 years Among the children we help, are orphans, vulnerable children and those victims of domestic violence. We offer them free elementary education following the national education curriculum.

  • Many children become orphans or vulnerable due to losing parents or guardians from HIV/AIDS related complications, over a decade ago, the number of orphans has been increasing in Uganda. In 2004, the number of orphans in Uganda was estimated to be 1.8 million but by 2010 the number had shot to 2.6 million due to HIV/AIDS related complications.

  • After parents dying or becoming disabled by AIDS and other complications, orphans or vulnerable children some as young as 8 years become guardians to their siblings. In instances where parents do not die and just become disabled, the young children will become the sole care takers of their homes.

  • Such children are forced to dropout of school and try to devise means of of becoming bread winners at home. Those few who persevere and remain in school, they will lack the basic school requirements, which renders them many inconveniences during their course of stay in school.

  • Children may resort to getting engaged into taking on odd jobs like collecting and selling scrap so as to  raise money for school.

  • It is such children that we at Good Care Infant School help so that they keep in school so as to realize their dreams

  • We also help children who are victims of domestic violence and children from disturbed homes like single parent homes where children are abandoned and are at the verge of dropping out of school
